Earthquake Employment Support Package

The Government has introduced to subsidies to assist businesses and employees during the six weeks from 22 February 2011.                                   

Earthquake Support Subsidy

What is it?

A payment for employers who want to maintain the employer/employee relationship and have not yet decided to cease business.

Who Applies?

The Employer

How is it Paid?

The subsidy is paid in two instalments each covering three weeks

Please note if you have business interruption insurance, you should contact your insurance company first.  If the insurance payout is delayed, we advise you apply for the subsidy. However you will be required to repay the subsidy when you receive your insurance payout.

What is it?

A payment for employees where the employer has decided not to continue their business

The Employee
